The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Diesel Technology, HVAC, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Maintenance, and Welding Technology Departments recently carried student representatives to Hot Springs to compete in the State SkillsUSA Competition. This is a competition where students compete head to head against students in other trade programs across the State in each of their respective areas. UACCH is proud of all our competitors as they represented the College and themselves outstandingly through their hard work in preparing for their contests and their professional manner while attending the competition.

The following students won medals in their areas.

Diesel Technology – Diesel Equipment Technology (Farm) – 1st place – Bruce Perry

Industrial Electricity – Industrial Motor Control – 2nd place – Windell Ross

Industrial Electricity – Industrial Motor Control – 3rd place – Blake Thomas

Industrial Electricity – Residential Wiring – 1st place – Miguel Garate

Industrial Electricity – Residential Wiring – 3rd place – Zachary Martin

Industrial Maintenance – Precision Machining Technology – 3rd place – Rusty Cook

Miguel Garate now has the opportunity to travel to Kansas City, KS in June to represent UACCH and the State of Arkansas in the National SkillsUSA Competition.  Please help UACCH congratulate these students on a job well done.
