The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope will hold its annual fall scholarship recognition ceremony Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 6:30p.m. in the Johnny Rapert Auditorium. This ceremony allows the scholarship donors to meet their fall semester scholarship recipients.
Thursday evening the College will be recognizing annual and endowed scholarships as well as the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship during the ceremony. Annual scholarships are privately funded through annual donations by the donors. These scholarships are available in several fields of study at UACCH and are available in differing amounts.
Endowed scholarships are set up when a donor makes a minimum $10,000 donation to the College Foundation. These funds are then invested and the scholarship is funded each year through the return on the investment. These scholarships, which are normally named by the donor, are also available for many of the programs at UACCH.
UACCH administers the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Funds for Hempstead and Lafayette Counties. These scholarships, which are funded through the annual UACCH Fish Fry and through matching funds from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund, assist students from Hempstead and Lafayette counties who desire to further their educations. Single Parent Scholarship Funds can be used by students who want to attend any college or university in Arkansas.
UACCH is pleased to be awarding 70 scholarships during this event and invites the community to attend this ceremony. For more information about how UACCH can be your bridge to the future, visit our website at www.uacch.edu.
