Loan Services
The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Library participates in interlibrary loan through membership in the Arkansas Libraries Online Network (AL@N), which comprises a membership group through Amigos Bibliographic Council via OCLC. Membership as a Selective User -one which utilizes interlibrary services but does not contribute cataloged holdings to the
database- is governed by OCLC's Interlibrary Loan Code and membership agreements forAL@N.

Who is eligible to use the ILL service?
UACCH Library extends interlibrary loan borrowing privileges to all registered borrowers.
What items are available through this service?
Within the parameters of the above agreements, member libraries have options concerning: choice of materials to be lent, period of the loan, renewal period, and others. Loaning library limitations which may apply include, but are not limited to:
- Reference materials, microforms, audio-visual materials, and periodicals are rarely loaned.
- Loans through interlibrary loan are ordinarily for the same time period as regular circulation to patrons in the library (21 days) but the lending institution has the right to request a different loan term.
- Interlibrary loan requests will be limited if due dates overlap holidays or other school closing dates.
- The following items are generally NOT available:
- items already in the UACCH Library's collection.
- an entire volume, or issue, of a periodical/journal.
- reference works.
- rare, valuable and fragile items.
- recently published books.
- items in high use at the lending library.
- items that are difficult or expensive to ship.
- audio and/or sound recordings.
- some dissertations.
How do I request items that UACCH Library does NOT own?
Use the online InterLibrary Loan Request Form to submit orders.
How many ILL requests may I submit?
Loans through interlibrary loan are ordinarily for the same time period as regular circulation to patrons in the library (21 days) but the lending institution has the right to request a different loan term.
Where do I pick up the item and return it?
- Books and photocopies are available for pickup at the Library Service Desk .
- Return all books to the Library Service Desk.
How long may I keep the item?
- Photocopies of articles are yours to keep.
- Loans through interlibrary loan are usually for 21 days unless the lending institution requests a different loan term. Lending libraries may set limitations on the use of particular items, e.g. "For in Library use Only" or "No renewals". UACCH Library must honor these restrictions to ensure service from these libraries in the future.
Is it possible to renew?
Renewals are occasionally granted by the lending library.
Are there charges if I return the item late?
The lending library’s policies will be enforced by UACCH Library if interlibrary loan items are returned late or are lost.
What about copyright restrictions?
Patrons ordering materials through interlibrary loan are responsible for the use of these materials while in their possession. Violation of copyright of interlibrary materials is not the responsibility of the Library.
