Finding Full Text Articles

 

The UACCH Library has a large collection of full text journals and periodicals that are available online through over 30 periodical databases. Periodical databases are used to find information on a particular topic in magazines, journals, and newspapers. The databases will provide you with full-text or citations. With a full-text article, you can send the article to the printer or send it to your e-mail account. With citations, you will need to find a specific periodical, and make a photocopy of the article or request it on interlibrary loan.

 

To access full text articles and other electronic records, go to the UACCH Library homepage and select Databases

 

Select the area that best serves the purpose of your search and then select the database(s) you want to search. The database vendor’s page will come up on your screen next and you may be asked to select the databases again.

 

On the search screen, type in your search terms and the other parameters (limits) of your search. The parameter selections vary by database. See the search screen for EBSCO databases below:

 

 

Click on the   button to conduct your search. Your list of search results will look like this:

 

 

 

Articles that are available in full text will have a  link (PDF Full Text or HTML Full Text) to the full text of the article.   If an article is not available in full text but it looks like an article you’d like to read, there are two ways to access the article. Check the UACCH Library’s Paper Periodical List (accessible from the library’s homepage) to see if the periodical you need is listed. If you find the issue of the periodical that you need to see, you may come to the library to view and photocopy the article, or If the periodical you need is not listed you may order the article through InterLibrary Loan by filling out the appropriate form for a book or an article

 

 

Serials Solutions Serials Solution provides an alphabetical listing of UACCH Library’s Paper and Online Journal Holdings. To search the listing, select Journal Search on the Library's homepage. You can search for the journal you want by title or subject area: Search by title or part of the title: Title begins with Title equals Title contains all words ISSN equals         Or, search by subject: -- Please select a subject category -- Business and Economics Fine Arts and Music Gender and Ethnic Studies General Interest Periodicals Government, Law, and Public Policy Health Sciences Literature, Languages, and Reference Physical Sciences and Mathematics Religion and Philosophy Social and Behavioral Sciences Sports, Leisure, and Hobbies Technology and Applied Sciences   After you click on the search button, a list of titles will be on the screen. Journals that are accessible in full text online will have hotlinks to the database in which they are found.
