UA Hope Campus Classes
Yoga at the Hope Campus – This comprehensive introductory four week course is designed for the beginner yogi. Students will learn foundation poses, the importance of pranayama (breath) to effectively burn calories and ensure muscle engagement, and proper body alignment. Students will also learn how to simplify these poses so they are accessible for any level.
Benefits of yoga include: increased flexibility, range of motion, lower blood pressure, lower anxiety, and improves concentration and blood flow just to name a few.
This class is structured for the beginner but will deepen even the seasoned yogi’s knowledge.

Yoga at the Texarkana Campus – Kripalu Yoga is a traditional yoga practice that revitalizes the body, calms the mind, and deepens self-awareness. Come experience the many benefits of yoga through postures, relaxation, and meditation. This class is designed to be appropriate and safe for everyone. Taught by Lynnel Westerman, Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor and member of the Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda Association.
Zumba – A Latin inspired total body workout that uses music and choreography to create a fitness party atmosphere. Zumba is an exercise program designed to burn calories, release endorphins and re-energize.

Wildlife Management: Food Plots – Planting food plots as a wildlife management practice can have great advantages. One among many is that it may fill a nutritional gap even in a good habitat. In this introductory class, instructor Steven Sheets will cover the basics of seasonal food plots. Learn more about the role of food plots and about how to get started. This class is sponsored by Eagle Seed, they will be proving bags of seed for the students that enroll.

Computer Basics for Beginners – Overcome your computer fears with these basic computer classes. The Adult Beginners and First Time Users classes will start with getting everything turned on, using the mouse, paint, WordPad, and games. We will talk about common computer terminology and what it all means. Internet basics, email, and social media will be covered. These hands-on classes are designed to help alleviate the anxiety many new users have about computers. Discounts are available for community members over 60. Please call 870.722.8102

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. This life-changing class will help you achieve your financial goals by showing you how to eliminate debt, save for the future, and give like never before. Taught via video by Dave Ramsey and the FPU teaching team, this course will challenge and motivate you to make a plan for your money and change your family tree forever. Hunter’s Education– This course is taught by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must complete a hunter education course and carry a valid hunter education card to hunt in Arkansas. Children under 16 may hunt without hunter education as long as they are under the direct supervision of an adult who is 21 years old or older and has a valid hunting license. There is no specific age requirement to enroll in hunter education. However, the education material is based on a sixth-grade reading level. Arkansas recognizes hunter education cards from other states. Arkansas hunter education cards are recognized in all states as well as in Canada and Mexico.

Concealed Handgun License Course- This one-day class is taught by a professional Arkansas State Police instructor. Necessary for Concealed Handgun Permit in the state of Arkansas. Class time is 4-6 hours plus range time. Those who only need renewal will only do the range portion of the class. This class has limited positions available, and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Paid pre-registration is necessary to secure class position.
