Technical and Industrial Scholarships


AEP/SWEPCO Power Plant Technology Scholarship

The Power Plant Technology Scholarship is a $1000 award ($500 fall, $500 spring) for full time students and a $500 award ($250 fall, $250 spring) for less than full time students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Power Plant Technology.

Scholarship Eligibility

Scholarship funds may be awarded to students whose degree intent is the AAS Power Plant Technology and meet the following criteria:

  1. If no college, applicant must be a high school graduate with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher or have received a GED.
  2. Applicants with previous college must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  3. Applicant must enroll each fall and spring semester in no less than 6 credit hours of courses which apply toward the AAS in Power Plant Technology degree.
  4. Applicant must maintain at least a GPA of 2.5 in courses which apply toward the AAS in Power Plant Technology degree.
  5. Applicant must successfully complete at least 6 credit hours each fall and spring semesters.
  6. Applicant must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid each calendar year.

Ace Electric Scholarship

Dave and Judy Phillips offer financial support to a student seeking a degree or technical certificate at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This $500 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $250 per semester), is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours).
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a college grade point average of 2.5. If applicant has not attended college they must be a high school graduate with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or obtained a GED.
  3. Applicant must be pursuing a degree or technical certificate in a Technical or Industrial program of study. Preference will be given to applicants seeking a degree in Industrial Electricity or Multi-craft Maintenance.
  4. Applicant must be non-Pell eligible.

Bill Routon Endowed Scholarship

Bonnie Routon offers financial support to a student who is seeking a degree in the Technical and Industrial Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope through the Bill Routon Endowed Scholarship.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be enrolled in a UACCH Technical and Industrial Program.
  2. Applicant must be a full-time student at UACCH.
  3. Applicant must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average.
  4. Applicant must be a resident of Hempstead County, Arkansas.

Donnie Wilson Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The Donnie Wilson Endowed Memorial Scholarship offers financial support to a student who is seeking a degree in the Technical and Industry field at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student (enrolled in at least 12 credit hours).
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  3. Applicant must be accepted into a Technical and Industrial program of study.
  4. Preference will be given to Blevins High School students, other applicants will be considered.

Ivan Bright Memorial Rotary Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Hope offers financial support to a student who is pursuing a technical degree at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This $1,000 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $500 per semester), is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours).
  2. Applicant must be a returning UACCH student and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  3. Preference will be given to student pursuing a technical degree/certificate.

James A. McLarty, Jr. Endowed Scholarship

The James A. McLarty, Jr. Endowed Scholarship offers financial support to a student enrolled at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250-$500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must have/maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  2. Preference will be given to student enrolled in the Diesel Technology Program.
