Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarships


8th North Judicial District Police Officer Scholarship

Chancellor and Mrs. Chris Thomason offer financial support to students at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope through the 8th North Judicial District Police Officer Scholarship.  Three (3) $400 scholarships, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $200 per semester) are awarded annually to certified law enforcement officers working and residing in Hempstead County or Nevada County. The expressed purpose of this scholarship is to pay tuition and fees related to enrollment at UACCH.

 

Harlequin Scholarship

Dave and Judy Phillips offer financial support to a student seeking a degree or technical certificate at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This $500 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $250 per semester), is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours).
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a college grade point average of 2.5. If applicant has not attended college they must be a high school graduate with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or obtained a GED.
  3. Applicant must be pursuing a degree or technical certificate (preference going to Criminal Justice or Business program student).
  4. Preference given to nontraditional student.
  5. Applicant must be non-Pell eligible.

French Stroughter, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Financial support is offered to a student enrolled at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope through the annual French Stroughter, Sr. Memorial Scholarship.  This $400 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters ($200/fall – $200/spring), is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a student pursuing an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice.
  2. Applicant must be a current law enforcement officer.
  3. Applicant must have and maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher.
  4. Applicant must be a resident of Hope or Patmos area.
