U of A Texarkana Adds Supply Chain Management to Career Technical Educational Programs

June 4, 2015

The University of Arkansas at Texarkana is ramping up its world class Career Technical programs to meet industry needs by adding the Supply Chain Management program in August. The Supply Chain Management (SCM) program is designed for entry-level employment in transportation, logistics, and warehousing.  Graduates will understand the responsibilities of managing goods from raw materials to final consumer.

The program encompasses three degree levels which include an Associates of Applied Science (AAS), a Technical Certificate (TC), or a Certificate of Proficiency (CP).  Students can pursue these degrees in a variety of class options that include traditional classes, online classes, and night classes to help accommodate students’ schedules.

The Interstate 30 corridor in Southwest Arkansas is a key transportation route used to connect businesses located all over the nation.  Area employers have expressed a need for employees who understand principles in transportation, logistics, and inventory management.  Recent surveys indicate an estimated 67-87 jobs in Supply Chain Management will be filled locally in the next 2-5 years, giving students a great opportunity to gain employment after completing this program.

The College is currently enrolling students for this program that will begin on the Texarkana campus on August 24th in the new Professions Building. Enroll today and gain the skills to begin a great career.
