UACCH Foundation holds Amphitheater sign unveiling with donors in Preparation for UACCH Fish Fry Thursday

April 14, 2014

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Foundation hosted a sign unveiling Thursday with donors at the Anthony-Routon Amphitheater that lies along Highway 29 in the front lawn of the UACCH Campus.  The Anthony-Routon Amphitheater will be the location for the 21st Annual UACCH Fish Fry to be held Thursday, April 17.

The Foundation event allowed donor Bonnie A. Routon and family to unveil the amphitheater sign located in the sidewalk round-about. During brief comments, UACCH Chancellor Chris Thomason, noted that Mrs. Routon is one of the original UACCH Board of Visitors and has served as Secretary of the Board for over 10 years.  The naming of the Anthony-Routon Amphitheater is very special and commemorates not only financial contributions to this institution but also years of service.

As the group enjoyed lunch under the newly completed Woodland pavilion that is part of the amphitheater experience, words of thanks and gratitude were expressed to project contractor Randy Odom.  Randy and Sonya Odom were very important in helping, both personally and professionally, the College to complete this project.  The generosity of these two families encouraged others to get involved in this project and the College is grateful for the many hands that helped complete the Anthony-Routon Amphitheater.

The College is looking forward to hosting the entire community at this newly completed facility on Thursday, April 17 for the 21st Annual UACCH Fish Fry starting at 4:30p.m.  The event will feature the Lion’s Club’s renowned fish with all the fixings.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the first concert on the new stage. Our very own Hope High Jazz Cats will be taking the stage at 4:30 and opening for the Eskimo Brothers at 5:30p.m.  The official Hope-Hempstead County Ribbon Cutting for the Amphitheater at 5:30p.m.
