Brandon Renfro to teach Supply Chain Management at UACCH

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope announces that Brandon Renfro has been hired as the instructor for the new Supply Chain Management program at UACCH. Renfro, who is from Genoa, received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Arkansas University and graduate degrees from Texas A&M. He will be working on the Hope campus and is employed as part of the TAACCT Grant the college received from the U.S. Department of Labor. This grant project, known on campus and throughout the community as the Ramp-Up Grant.
The grant, which was announced by U.S. Senator Mark Pryor, contained $8,419,390 to be awarded in total to eight community colleges in Arkansas to expand education and career training programs for high-skill fields, such as advanced manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This funding came from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant Program, which was authorized by the stimulus bill.
The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope will receive $541,622 to establish and instruct a program in advanced manufacturing. UACCH will develop the following two programs with the funds: Advanced Industrial Automation (AIA) and Supply Chain Management. Curriculum is being designed with input from Southwest Arkansas industry leaders to create programs that meet the needs of employers.
Brandon Renfro, UACCH Program Instructor said this about the new program and his recent employment at UACCH, “ I am pleased to be a part of the UACCH Family and look forward to the work that lies ahead as we start this new program. The Supply Chain Management program, in a nut-shell, will prepare students to work in the growing world of transportation, logistics, and inventory management. With our centralized location in the United States, Arkansas could see expanding economic opportunity in these areas.”
