UACCH Partners with Arkansas High School Beginning Fall of 2011

June 23, 2011

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is honored to announce a partnership with Texarkana Arkansas School District to offer college classes this fall semester on the Arkansas High School campus. This expanded partnership represents a significant commitment to address the higher education needs of both traditional and nontraditional Miller County students.  This effort demonstrates that UACCH continually strives to expand opportunities to all counties within its primary service area in Southwest Arkansas.

The partnership will offer easier access for Miller County students and allow them to pursue a higher education through the use of the numerous Arkansas programs designed to help students complete a degree.  Programs such as the Academic Challenge “Lottery” Scholarship, Career Pathways Initiative, and the numerous private scholarships available through the UACCH Foundation are helping remove the obstacles that have kept many from pursuing a higher education.

UACCH Chancellor Chris Thomason said, “UACCH is focused on helping everyone access a higher education. We are really pleased with the development of this partnership with Arkansas High which will allow us to better serve the students in our service area.  This is a great day for higher education in Southwest Arkansas, and I look forward to the benefits to our students and our region.”

This fall, UACCH will offer 6 courses on Monday – Thursday evenings on the Texarkana Arkansas High School Campus.  Enrollment will be open to all eligible students.  For more information and a full schedule of courses visit www.uacch.edu or call the UACCH Enrollment Management Office at 870-722-8228 or 870-722-8174.
