Chuck Wicks and Little Texas to Entertain at 35th Annual Watermelon Festival

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Foundation and the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce are excited to be bringing headliner Chuck Wicks and opening act Little Texas to Hope, Arkansas for the 35th Annual Watermelon Festival. This year’s festival concert will feature two award-winning country music acts. The group Little Texas, a regional favorite known as the “hardest working band in country music,” will open for headliner Chuck Wicks at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 13. Singer-songwriter Wicks’ hits include “Stealing Cinderella,” “All I Ever Wanted,” “Man of the House,” “Old School,” “Hold that Thought,” “When You’re Single,” “If We Loved,” “The Easy Part,” and “Good Times Comin’ On.”

Little Texas hits include the number one singles “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas,” and “My Love,” as well as the top ten tunes “Kick a Little,” “Some Guys Have All the Love,” and “First Time for Everything.” Wicks has been a celebrity contestant on Dancing with the Stars and was recently featured in a People Magazine spread where he was photographed as a hopeless romantic, as a cowboy and as a “nerd.”

The upcoming August 13 concert on the CMC Steel Products outdoor stage is sure to be a great event that the entire family will enjoy. Tickets go on sale June 3 with a special early bird one-day discounted ticket. Early bird tickets will be sold Friday, June 3rd, at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00p.m. Early Bird tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 4-10. Advanced tickets will be $12 for adults and day of show tickets will be $20. Children’s tickets will be $6.
