Q. Where are you from and where did you graduate college?
A. Magnolia, AR; B.A., Southern Arkansas University, M.A.T., Southern Arkansas University; M.A., University of Memphis; Ph.D. (ongoing), Clemson University.

Q. Why did you choose education as a career?
A. Getting to help students gives my life a purpose. When I was growing up, I was always taught to go forth into the world and do good. Being a teacher allows me to do that.

Q. What do you LOVE about your classes at UAHT?
A. There are many things that I love about my classes. We have a good mix of traditional and non-traditional students, which is a change for me since I was a high school teacher before coming here. So, I get to expand as a teacher and have experience with diversity on many different levels.

Q. What are your favorite hobbies? What do you do to relax?
A. I have been a yoga instructor for almost seven years now, and have been a practitioner for 13. Running is another one of my hobbies, although I would say I have a love-hate relationship with it. Other than that, I have no time to relax – I’m a Ph.D. student :).

Q. What is your motto for your class?
A. Learning should be fun and memorable.

Q. What is something you wish you would have known when you were in college?
A. Do you have any advice you want to pass along to students? Do something really outside of your comfort zone. Take advantage of student travel opportunities, or study abroad if you can. Be self-sufficient. No one can take care of you as well as you.

Q. What is your favorite snack?
A. Cheese and pretzels.
