Amanda Condon, a 2016 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana, has been selected to serve on the 2016-2017 Pearson Student Advisory Board. Pearson is one of the largest providers of educational products and services in the world. The Pearson Student Advisory Board is comprised of passionate learners and motivated undergraduate leaders seeking to implement change that impacts college classrooms across the country. Student Advisory Board members work directly with Pearson executives and product development teams to make tangible changes to products and services that affect student success.
Student Advisory Board responsibilities include communicating directly with Pearson’s senior executives about college students’ concerns and needs, working with product and marketing managers to influence the direction of existing and future digital models, developing and executing committee projects based on the Student Advisory Board members’ interests and strengths, and attending the Pearson Student Leadership Summit during the summer.
Condon, a single mother of three from Texarkana, was one of only fifteen students chosen for this honor from nearly 300 applicants nationwide. She graduated UAHT this spring with an Associate of Arts Degree and plans to transfer to Arkansas Tech to pursue a degree in emergency management. Amanda stated, “I am honored to accept my new position as a Pearson Student Advisor and represent the voice and talents of the nontraditional students to develop new technologies inside the classroom.”
